Black comedy set in Belgrade during the Yugoslavian Civil War. TO BE OR NOT TO BE, made in Serbia.
Lubi, the king of the Belgrade black market, is fed up with the American bombings and his sister Dascha's permanent efforts to marry an AWACS pilot. His successful capturing of an US navigator seems to Lubi like hitting the jackpot, and Dascha believes her dreams are coming true. In between kisses and gunshots, at the speed of a DIY scud missile, the characters race towards a happy ending of international understanding: "You and me, just like Bonnie and Clyde."
In 1987, Milos Radovic won the Cannes Golden Palm for best short film, and his feature SMALL WORLD was awarded the Prize of the Jury at the Sarajevo festival in 2003. In FALLING INTO PARADISE he combines dialogue fireworks with absurd comedy and great affection for his characters.
A co-production with MACT Production (France), Zillion (Serbia-Montenegro), Rocketta Film (Netherlands) and Neue Rotterdam Films (Netherlands). Additional co-producers: Canal+ and Degeto Film.
